WelcomeWriting about myself is harder than I thought. Let's see, I love to read, always have. My interest in writing started back in the seventh grade as a way to escape and create new worlds where I was in control. When a book or movie ended wrong, I rewrote it in my head. To this day, there is just something magical about being in total control. In my stories anyway. :)Once I get the story down on paper, my characters finally leave me alone. I can then focus on family, friends and other activities. Although, it never takes long before something I read, watch or live pops another idea into my head that demands attention. And it’s the funniest thing. I kinda like it...I became serious about the publishing aspect three years ago after finishing my third manuscript. Romantic suspense will forever be my first love. Something about a woman in trouble and a big strong, gorgeous, but sensitive man dashing in to save the day gets my heart to pumping. I also enjoy writing young adult and children’s books and an element of suspense and mystery drive these stories as well. Born and raised in Texas, I tend to dream big and believe good conquers all. My husband and three kids mean the world to me and keep me on my toes. Throw in one hamster, the masterful escape artist, our sweet golden retriever, and a cat, who thinks she’s bigger and stronger than all of us put together, and my life is anything but dull. When I’m not writing, I love spending time with my family, camping, snow skiing, photography and painting.

Faithful Deceptions
Target of Betrayal
Revenge is a dangerous game. Especially when you don't know all the facts about the person you intend to ruin. Hailey Devlin's only objective is to make things right after "Mr. Wonderful" destroys the business she and her long time friend worked so hard to build from the ground up. After a Christmas party where she plans to reveal the scum bag's true dark side, she awakens to a world she can't remember. Is it amnesia? Or something much more sinister? A handsome man claims to be her husband. Stirs up feelings she locked deep down inside her years ago. Who is he? What does he really want? And why is a tiny voice deep in her self conscious screaming danger?
Kathleen Landon thought her life would finally get back to normal after the bizarre death of her husband. But a "chance" meeting with an old boyfriend throws her and her family on a dangerous and emotional journey full of secrets and betrayal. Her husband's death wasn't an accident, but an attempt to cover up a horrendous crime spree being operated by a traitor inside the FBI. Now she and her children are running from a cold-blooded killer. Can she trust the U.S. Marshal sworn to protect them. Or is he using her as bait to capture her husband's killer?
Hailey Devlin and Patrick Roark survived their nightmare in “Faithful Deceptions.” But what about all the others? Will putting a man behind bars for his crimes really stop any of the suffering? The demand is still there. Therefore the horrendous cycle just keeps on going. Can anyone really hope to stop this madness? ….One man is determined to try. A short story Prequel to Target of Betrayal.

Faithful Deceptions
"“Quit stalling, asshole. What's done is done.”" Fully dressed and chilled to the bone from the cold shower, he stepped toward the bathroom door. How would he feel after her feelings for him changed? He liked having her around. Liked the way she looked at him. Liked the idea of her belonging to him. Oh, shit, he was in deep. When he opened the door, his breath caught at the sight that greeted him. She lay wide awake, waiting. Her eyes locked on him and held his gaze full of curiosity and something else he couldn't interpret. Was it fear? Was it loathing? Was it…? He cleared his throat and stepped into the room, studying the nasty bruises on her face. “How are you feeling?” The most fascinating smile creased her lips and he watched spellbound. Did she even know what she'd been through? What he wouldn't give to be able to gently wipe away the evidence before she could see them. "“I'’m feeling much better today."” She took a deep breath and patted the sheets next to her. "“But, I think we need to talk."” Talk. Yeah, that's right. That's exactly what they needed to do. Tightening his jaw, he pushed the images of what he really wanted to do out of his mind and slowly crossed the room, stopping at the edge of the bed. "“Please, sit."” Her voice was calm. Way too calm. And soft. It tempted him almost to the point where hope set in and took up permanent residence. "“No headaches?”" "“Strangely, no.”" Her face puckered into the cutest display of bewilderment. "“Not the slightest bit of pain now when I try to remember either. But I still can’t remember certain things."” Her eyes zeroed in on his. Certain things? Just what was she remembering? "“We have a lot to discuss,"” he said. He had no idea where to start. What should he reveal first? Their false marriage? His involvement in her kidnapping? What Dustin planned to do? This wasn't going to be easy. "“It'’s time you know the truth.”" She crossed her arms in front of her and urged him to continue with one delicately raised eyebrow. "“I'm not who you think I am.”" Her light mood turned dark and mysterious, but she said nothing. "“Hailey, I'm an undercover ICE agent."” There he'd identified himself. And it was clear by the look on her face that what she was remembering had nothing to do with him. "“An ICE what?"” Her mouth twisted as she studied him trying to figure out a meaning. "“Does this have something to do with the security company you work for?”" "“ICE stands for Immigration and Customs Enforcement."” His teeth ached from the pressure as he paused to let it sink in. His clarification got her attention. She sat straight up, the sheet falling off her shoulder and almost revealing more than he could bear to see. Her cheeks burning a bright shade of red, she snatched it back up to her neck. "“Go on."” Her voice shook ever so slightly. "“What does this have to do with me? With us?”" Before he could expose himself as a deceiving scoundrel, his cell phone hummed and vibrated on the dresser behind him. "“Don't even think about answering it, buddy.”" "“I'm sorry, Hailey. I have to.”" He turned his back, grateful for the brief interruption and heard her growl under her breath. Picking up the phone, he glanced at the number. Harrington's timing was astonishing. He heaved in a heavy sigh and flipped open the phone. "“This is Roark.”"
